Request a NSF Fastlane Password

    A NSF Fastlane password is required to submit proposals for the National Science Foundation (NSF).
  • If you do not have a Fastlane Password yet, ORS Pre-Award Services will get you one after you provide the necessary information.
  • The information entered will be sent by Email to Linda Daugherty in ORS Pre-Award Services.
  • You will receive a REPLY email once you can access Fastlane.
  • At first log-in at NSF www.fastlane.nsf.gov, you will be asked to enter a permanent password.
  • Passwords must be at least 6 characters long and contain at least one digit and one letter.
    You are offered to enter information in two ways:
  1. Log-In with your Single-Sign-On username and password (in the grey section below).
      Accessible UM System personal information will be collected and
      presented as default information below,
    • for corrections or additions,
      and (after entering a temporary password)
    • acceptance.

  2. You can just fill in the (white section) fields below and click 'Submit'.
