The Post-Award Office works with principal investigators and their fiscal officers to manage and monitor awards received at UMKC, so our researchers can focus their time and talent on their research.

Along with the Pre-Award Office, the Post-Award Office ensures that university and federal regulations are met and award funds are documented to ensure sound and appropriate financial management.

Our responsibilities include:

• establishing accounts
• monitoring expenditures
• managing changes to your research project (including changes to personnel, budget, scope, timeline, or subcontracts)
• invoicing and billing
• reporting
• closing out awards

Each school has a designated post-award administrator. Contact your administrator when you have questions or need help with expenditure issues, rebudgeting, and agency rules and regulations.
