Jaime Warren Fernandez is a Sr. Licensing Associate. He joined UMKC Tech Commercialization in 2023 upon completion of his JD from the UMKC School of Law. Prior to joining Tech Commercialization, Jaime oversaw Business Optimization, Product Development and Change Management pursuits within various high-tech, start-up and government entities, including: Apple, Philips Sonicare, Microsoft, NASA and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Jaime manages a portfolio of various technologies across all UMKC programs / discliplines. He also assists in providing resources for stakeholders in achieving IP protection, meeting innovation milestones and commercialization of new inventions/ventures.
Jaime holds a JD (emphasis in Tech Law & Entreprenuership) from UMKC, a MS in Integrated Product Design (Mechanical Engineering, combined with Wharton School of Business, and Weitzman School of Design) from University of Pennsylvania, a MS in Organizational Dynamics from University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in Telecommunications from Rochester Institute of Technology.
