John Ledgerwood “Caleb,” is a Graduate Assistant for the Office of Technology Commercialization. He joined UMKC Tech Commercialization in 2024 upon his return to obtain a Masters in Cell & Molecular Biology. Prior to school and joining the Tech Commercialization team, Caleb received his JD from the UMKC School of Law and bachelor’s from Missouri State University majoring in Cell & Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
In law school Caleb worked in the Intellectual Property law Clinic and served as the Vice President for the Intellectual Property Law Society. Caleb's emphasis is Intellectual Property law - he has passed the USPTO Patent Bar and Missouri bar. His return to pursue a Master’s is to better his scientific background, while pursuing a lifelong goal of becoming a Patent Attorney.
