UMKC Trustees’ Faculty Fellowship Awards (PDF)
Annual deadline of September 15th
$5,000 and $15,000 stipends
The UMKC Trustees' Faculty Fellowship recognizes faculty who have distinguished themselves through scholarship and creativity. Recipients are expected to serve as role models, mentor, and encourage other faculty members and students in pursuit of academic excellence.
N.T. Veatch Award for Distinguished Research and Creativity
Annual deadline of September 15th
$1,000 stipend
The N.T. Veatch Award recognizes distinguished research and other scholarly or creative activity accomplished by UMKC faculty. All full-time, regular faculty members who have been at UMKC for at least three years are eligible to be nominated.
Early Career Faculty Travel Award
The Emeritus College of UMKC dedicates the proceeds of its dues- and donation-funded endowment to support Early Career Faculty. These are faculty who are early in their career at UMKC, typically tenure-track.
Awards will be made annually on a competitive basis to support travel to conferences, meetings, collaborations and projects, that will enhance networking and faculty contacts and that will directly support the career development of UMKC faculty.Funding For Excellence Program
The Funding for Excellence Program (FFE) is an institutionally funded grants program to support the highest level of research, scholarship, and artistic endeavors by UMKC faculty. FFE grants are awarded once a year, on a competitive basis, by a decision of the UMKC Research Advisory Council. The program will provide funding for faculty projects up to $15,000.
UM System Funding Opportunities
The Office of Research and Economic Development is dedicated to advancing research and innovation across the University of Missouri System. The office has formulated different programs to address funding needs at various stages of the research and discovery process.
The Research and Creative Works Strategic Investment Program supports university projects through a $50M investment over a 5-year period.
The Spinal Cord Injury Program provides research support for investigators at public or private educational, healthcare, or research institutions in Missouri to perform exploratory studies regarding spinal cord injury, as well as acquired or congenital disease processes that affect the spinal cord.
