The HIPAA training consists of 36 information pages, which will be presented sequentially, followed by the creation of a HIPAA Certificate of Training which will be emailed to your UMKC email.
If you cannot complete the training of all pages in a single session, return here, log in and continue where you left off previously.
If you want to review these HIPAA training pages at any time after completion of your HIPAA Certification, you can freely browse through the training information, but no new HIPAA Certificate will be created.
If you lose your HIPAA Certificate, please contact Chris Winders.
If you do not have a UMKC Single-Sign-On (SSO) or email account, please contact Chris Winders.
- Provide your name, institutional affiliation and valid email address that will be used to send the certificate.
- Give the reason that you need to obtain the UMKC HIPAA Certification.
- A username and password will be emailed to you to allow log-in for training and certification.
If you have already completed HIPAA training offered by the covered entity (CE) that you are affiliated with, such as Truman Medical Center, Children's Mercy Hospital, or St. Luke's Hospital, submit documentation of completed training and a synopsis of the training.
This documentation fulfills the requirement of the UMKC HIPAA Tutorial and Certificate of Completion.
Note that UMKC HIPAA Officer may require completion of UMKC's tutorial in case of doubts or questions about the content of the training completed at the CE with which you are affiliated.
